Former La Vergne track star and MTSU sophomore John Sherman was named Conference USA after his performance at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Sherman took the 100- and 200- meter races with personal best times of 10.21 and 20.50 seconds, respectively.
His 200 meters time is the ninth fastest in the outdoor season, according to athletic.net.
