The City of Cornell will conduct a public hearing, regarding its proposed application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) program funds. The public is invited to attend to learn about the CDBG program, provide input on community development and housing needs, and comment on the activities proposed to be included in the CDBG application.
Agenda for the public hearing: 1. Identification of total potential funding available 2. Eligible CDBG activities 3. Presentation of identifi ed community development and housing needs 4. Presentation of activities proposed for CDBG application 5. Review of any potential residential and nonresidential displacement 6. Resident input regarding community, development and housing needs, the proposed CDBG project and other CDBG activities Residents of the City of Cornell, including residents with low and moderate incomes that may be impacted by the project, are encouraged to attend.

things. From his amazing poetry writing to his comical speeches, Aidan is always doing something to brighten my day, and put his creativity on full display for others. Aidan is an active member of Game Club. If he isn’t participating in a Magic the Gathering game, he may oversee the Flux tournament, or be a dungeon master for a Dungeons & Dragons game. He is always willing to join in with others, try out something new, teach someone how to play or play something with someone who isn’t involved. Everyone in game Game Club knows they can count on Aidan to join in wherever he is needed and that he’s perfectly happy to do so. Back to the fist bumps, smiles and words of encouragement I mentioned earlier. Aidan is a positive presence in our building, any time he is here. I have never heard him say a negative word about anybody and I’d be surprised if anyone can say they have. To those who believe nobody can be cheerful all of the time, I’d like them to meet Mr. Aidan Hetchler. Be sure to give him a fist bump if you see him. Keep up the great work, Aidan!”

Teacher Quote: “Since Cody started at Cadott High School, he has been a great addition to our school. He has so many positive attributes, he’s kind to all, respectful and responsible. Cody always worked hard in my classes I never had to ask him to hustle in PE. Mr. Becker says Cody has done well by himself, improving his career skills, through his work-based learning program. Ella Tranzen (back) donned a pair of antlers to match her festive sweater, while Maci Lightle (front) chose a more traditional look, Dec. 10, for the Cadott fifthgrade choir concert. The kids had a good time performing the popular Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, as well as some other selections.
Somewhat new to the sixth-grade choir, was the addition of handbells, that can either be rung to make music or have a button pressed to clang the knocker. The music helpers came in handy, during Carol of the Bells.

Cornell Middle School student, Lilyana Burton, sixth grade, is moving on to the Badger State Spelling Bee. Burton competed at the CESA 10 Regional Spelling Bee, among students in grades four through eight, in Chippewa Falls, Feb. 3, earning second place overall, out of 39 students from 13 area schools. The top five spellers qualified for the State bee, which will be held Saturday, March 29, at the Mitby Theater in Madison, at 1 p.m.
